July 29, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment

As we worked on this years 15th Dream Machine, we couldn’t help but think about how far we’ve come. From the original 200MHz, 8MB-of-RAM 1996 Dream Machine up to this years 12-core, 24-thread, 24-gigs-of-RAM version, the ultimate computer has grown exponentially more powerful. But that’s not much of a shocker (we’ve all heard about Moore’s Law, and all) so we decided to delve deeper into the history of the Dream Machine. We collected data about the vital statistics of each years machine, and made a bunch of graphs showing how they’ve grown. Some of what we found out surprised even us. Keep reading for all the charts, as well as our thoughts about why they look the way they do

How to install Metal Gear Solid 1 onto PSP

January 20, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

CODE TO DOWNLOAD GAME: pinoypsp Hey, this video will show you how to install a PSP game called Metal Gear Solid 1™- PS1™. Onto your already hacked PSP Custom Firmware: 3.90 M-33 or 3.80 M-33. First you would have to download the Metal Gear Solid 1™ Eboot game from the following website MGS1 = http://forum.whiteone.us/login.w1?redirect=viewtopic.w1&t=547 Now to download this game you would need to register an account! For this I will register a public account and post the USERNAME and PASSWORD in my next EDIT. It might not work after the first two or three weeks so you would have to register yourself if necessary! USERNAME: PCGamer PASSWORD: PCGamer The entire game itself is about 800 850 Mbs, but its split into two discs, CD 1 and CD2. First CD = 440 Mbs Proximate Second CD = 400 Mbs Proximate After youve downloaded the game, you would have to download these files (These files are needed to boot the game) RS Psardumper: http://dl.qj.net/RS-Psar-Dumper-v3.1-… 3.11 EBOOT: http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Firmware-3.11-PS… Popsloader: http://dl.qj.net/Popsloader-3.80-M33-… Now after youve downloaded all the files that are listed above; Ill show you the following steps and what to do! 1st STEP: Connect the PSP to a computer. Extract using a Winrar program the RS-Psar-Dumper-v3.1 folder. Open the RS-Psar-Dumper-v3.1 folder and copy and paste the following RS folder into you PSP Memory Card (Just the memory card, nowhere else. Dont copy it into any files just onto the memory card) 2nd STEP: Copy the RSPsarDumper folder which is inside the RS-Psar-Dumper-v3.1 folder into folder: MEMORY STICK///PSP///Game380. 3rd STEP: Copy the seplugins folder which was also inside the RS-Psar-Dumper-v3.1 folder onto your Memory Stick (Exactly the same as the 1st STEP.) 4th STEP: Copy the EBOOT.exe file which is exactly 21 Mbs large onto your Memory Stick (Exactly like the 1stSTEP). The EBOOT file is found right next the seplugings file which is in the RS-Psar-Dumper-v3.1 folder. After youve put these files into the correct destination, disconnect your PSP and go to GAME then go to MEMORY STICK under GAME. You should see something called RSPsarDumper. Run this program. After it launches youll see a menu pop-up etc. Press the SQUARE button to continue. When if finishes reboot your PSP and go back to USB Connection. Go to the memory stick and search for a new file called DUMP Enter this file and search for another file called F0 Also enter this file and search for another file called kd. When youre inside the kd file search for these two files: pops.prx & popsman.prx. Copy these two files and paste them into the file called popsloader found inside seplugins at the core of the memory stick (Just open memory stick again and youll find it) Also its the file that you copied! Now go back to DUMP//F0 and enter a new file called vsh then enter another one called module. Copy this file called: pafmini.prx. And paste it inside seplugins//popsloader. After doing all of this you would have to rename each of the file that you copied with a 311 in between the name and the dot i.e. popsman311.prx, pops311.prx and pafmini311.prx etc. Dont rename the files that you havent copied! After this, turn off your PSP. Now turn ON your PSP while holding the R-Bumper down firmly! You should see a menu pop-up, ignore everything and go down to Plugins? and then press Popsloader.prx and enable it if it is disabled, only if it is disabled! Some credit goes to Vaisys for showing me how to install RE3 and other games onto my PSP, thanks man.
